Laci Patterson, PA-C

Please join us in welcoming Laci to our practice! Laci grew up in St. Mary’s, where she was an academic All-American in lacrosse at Leonardtown High School. She completed her undergraduate studies at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. She earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. After graduation, Laci worked in Kansas City, Missouri with an orthopedic surgery group. Laci and her husband have returned home to St. Mary’s.

Laci will be working directly with Dr. Lucas Wymore in Sports Medicine, seeing patients in our Leonardtown and White Plains offices. Laci will also be assisting in surgeries at both the Leonardtown Surgery Center and St. Mary’s Hospital. We are very excited to welcome Laci and her expertise to the area, to help expand access and provide excellent patient care!

Medical Billing and Physician Assistants

In the state of Maryland, Physician Assistants, or PAs, cannot practice independently. They require a supervising physician. Laci practices under the supervision of Dr. Wymore. In order to bill your health insurance, all charges are submitted under the supervising physicians code. In this case, your statement may reflect a visit with Dr. Wymore, even if you were seen by Laci and not Dr. Wymore. Additionally, Laci will be bringing her expertise to the operating room to provide critical skills as a first assistant. This will be submitted as a separate charge, which may be reflected on your bills or insurance explanation of benefits, or EOB.
